Family Funder - Creating your account


Welcome to True Link! This article will assist you in joining your loved one’s True Link account as a Family Funder, so you can add money to their True Link Visa Card.

Step 1

In Step 1, you’ll be asked to share the following information to create your account:

  • Your relationship to the cardholder.
  • Your email address.
  • The password that you’d like to use when logging into your account.

When you are ready to move on to Step 2, click the green “Continue” button. 

Step 2

In Step 2, you’ll be asked to share some information about yourself:

  • Your first and last name.
  • (Optional) Your mobile phone number.
  • (Optional) Your home phone number.

Including your phone number can help us verify you more quickly if you need to contact us and gives us another option to reach you if needed. In addition, adding a mobile phone number will allow you to enable two-step verification for your account, a security feature that helps keep your account secure. This feature can be enabled after creating your account, and more information on how to enable two-step verification can be found here.

We also ask that you agree to both our Master Services Agreement and E-sign Agreement, as well as verify that the cardholder has authorized you as someone who will be helping manage their card.

When you are ready to move on to Step 3, click the green “Continue” button.

Step 3

In Step 3, you’ll be prompted to connect a bank account that will be used to deposit funds on your loved one’s True Link Visa Card. To help do this quickly and easily, we partner with an industry leading financial technology company, Plaid, to connect with your bank and instantly verify your bank account using your bank credentials. Using this verification method will not share your bank credentials with True Link, which remain confidential.

If you are unable to use Plaid or would prefer to use another method to verify your bank account, you can click “Skip for now” and enter your account and routing number on the Funding tab of your True Link Dashboard. This method will take 2-4 business days to verify your account. Clicking “Skip for now” will also complete your account creation, and take you to your Dashboard. 

We cannot accept transfers via debit or credit cards. 

Step 4

If you connect your bank account automatically, you will be taken to Step 4, which is where you will schedule your first transfer.


True Link Visa Cards can receive transfers totaling up to $5,000.00 per day, and $20,000.00 per month. You will also see the timelines for when you can expect funds to become available depending on when transfers are scheduled. When you have entered the amount you’d like to make available, click the green “Schedule transfer” button, or if you’d prefer to wait, you can click “Skip for now”. 

After either of these steps, your account will be created!

Upon creating your account, you will see your Dashboard. To access your loved one’s True Link Visa Card, click the blue “Dashboard” link on the right side of your screen. 

From here, you’ll be able to schedule future transfers, and depending on the settings put in place by the organization assisting your loved one, your loved one’s transaction history as well.
