Avoid Balance Check Fees

At True Link, we pride ourselves on offering an affordable service, and we want to help our customers avoid paying high or unexpected fees whenever possible.

In this article, you’ll learn how the True Link Visa® Prepaid Card balance can be checked without incurring fees. 

Balance check fees 

A True Link Visa Card incurs a fee if an ATM is used to check the Card balance. To help avoid this fee, we provide four free options for cardholders to check their balance.

Option 1 - True Link Financial mobile app: Cardholders can download and log in to the mobile app to check their Card balance.

Option 2 - Automated phone system: Cardholders or administrators can call 1-800-299-7646 to check the card’s balance through True Link’s 24/7 automated phone system. This is the most commonly used method for checking a card’s balance. 

  • Press 1 to check the current balance. 
  • Enter the last 4 digits of the Card number. 
  • Enter the 4 digits of the cardholder date of birth. 
  • Enter the last 4 digits of the cardholder Social Security number. 
  • Once information is confirmed, the Card balance will be read to the caller. 

Option 3 - Online dashboard: Cardholders or administrators can check the Card balance through their online dashboard.

  • Cardholders: Visit our website (https://member.truelinkfinancial.com/sign-in) and log in using the last 4 digits of your Card number, the last 4 digits of your Social Security number, and your date of birth. Once you log in, the balance will be shown in the upper left-hand corner of the screen. 
  • Administrators: From your account dashboard, click on the cardholder whose balance you would like to check. The available balance will be shown in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. 

Option 4 - Text message: If True Link has the cardholder’s mobile number on file, a cardholder can text the word “balance” to 1-800-299-7646, and the balance will be sent back in a text message. Standard text message rates, fees, and charges may apply. 

Administrators can add the cardholder’s phone number through their administrator portal by updating cardholder information or by emailing support@truelinkfincial.com.

If a cardholder texts 1-800-299-7646 and receives an error message, please contact our Customer Support team and we will work with you to resolve any issues.

Option 5 - Customer Support: Cardholders can check their balance free of charge by contacting our Customer Support team.
