Additional Identification Documents
This article is intended for ABLE customers.
We are required by the federal government to complete an identity verification for each cardholder.
We first attempt to verify the cardholder’s identity using an automated system. If we are unable to complete identity verification using the automated system, we may ask for additional identification documents. We will contact you directly if additional information is required.
In this article, you’ll learn about what documentation we may request to complete identity verification.
Accepted documents
If we are unable to verify the cardholder’s identity using the automated system, we can collect two forms of valid identification to fulfill the federal government’s identity verification requirement and activate the card. If identification documents are required, you will receive an email notification with additional instructions.
The first form of identification is typically a current government-issued photo ID and can be ONE of the following:
- Driver’s License
- Passport
- State-Issued Identification Card
- Social Security award letter
- Veterans Affairs award letter
The second form of identification can be a second item from the list above or ONE of the following:
- Utility bill
- Lease agreement
- Current pay stub
- Bank statement showing name and current address
- State-issued birth certificate
- Marriage license
- Medicaid award letter
- School ID with photo
- Work ID with photo
If you cannot meet the additional documentation requirements or have additional questions about the identity verification requirement, please contact our Customer Support team for assistance.
Submit documents
Once you have collected the required documents, please send them to True Link via email, fax, or postal mail:
- Email: documents@truelinkfinancial.com
- Fax: 1-415-380-0883
- Postal mail: PO Box 581, San Francisco, CA 94104
If using postal mail, please send copies only rather than the original documents, as documents sent via postal mail cannot be returned. Documents sent through the mail will take longer to process given shipping times.
If you submit documents, we will notify you via email once we have processed the documents and activated the card.
