How to order your ABLE Visa® Card

Order Your ABLE Card

Welcome to True Link! We’re excited to complete your card order.

True Link is a financial services provider that powers the card you can use to spend money from your ABLE account. We partnered with your state’s ABLE plan and your plan manager, Vestwell, to give you a card with access to custom features and controls. Some features you may value include:

  • The Spending Monitor, which allows a card to be configured to allow or block transactions with specific types of merchants. While many beneficiaries do not need these additional protections, this can give peace of mind to Authorized Legal Representatives (ALRs) for beneficiaries who are still forming safe spending habits
  • Real time transaction alerts.
  • The ability to upload and attach receipts to your transaction history.
  • A unique variety of reporting options that enable you to track your Qualified Disability Expenses (QDEs). 

We also understand that as the ALR you may be the one primarily using the card on behalf of your beneficiary, which is why we offer the option to order two cards for each ABLE account if needed. You can order:

  • A card issued in the name of the ALR.
  • A card issued in the name of the beneficiary.
  • If you will both need the ability to spend funds, you can also request both.

Ready to request a card for your ABLE Account? The information below will walk you through the card order application process. 

Create an account and order your first card

New users must first create an account online before placing a card order. 

Before ordering your card, please be aware that we are only able to process orders for accounts that have been opened for at least 21 days. If you are unsure if your account is older than 21 days, please reach out to our team at ablecard@truelinkfinancial.com prior to placing your order.

To start your card application, please find your ABLE program below, and open the link for the program where you have your ABLE account.

The first screen that you see will ask you to select if you are the Authorized Legal Representative (ALR) for a beneficiary, or if you are a beneficiary who is managing your own ABLE account.

If you are the ALR for a beneficiary, you will have the option to order a card for yourself to make purchases on behalf of the beneficiary, a card for the beneficiary, or cards for both of you. If you are a beneficiary managing your own ABLE account, you will just order a card for yourself.

Once you reach the ABLE Visa® Card order form, follow the steps below to create an account and place your card order. 

Please know that our Card order form will require you to input an email address to create your account. If you do not have an email address, or if you are unable to complete this form yourself, please contact us by phone, and we’d be happy to help you place your order.

For STABLE Accounts: Please be aware that when you are entering your STABLE Account number, you will need to include a capital “ST” as part of the account number (i.e. enter “ST0000001234” instead of “0000001234”).

For CalABLE Accounts: You will need to include “99” as the first two numbers in your account number (i.e. enter “991000001234” instead of “1000001234”).

Once submitted, your order will be reviewed by our team promptly. If the information provided matches a valid ABLE account, your card will arrive in the mail within 6-9 business days.
