Managing Merchandise Purchases at a Merchant

The True Link Visa® Prepaid Card blocks and allows purchases at the merchant level. This means the Card cannot control the exact merchandise that a cardholder purchases at a given merchant.

In this article, you will learn tips for managing merchandise purchases.

Managing transactions

Situations can arise where a cardholder needs to make purchases at a merchant that also sells certain items you may not want them to purchase (e.g., groceries from a store that sells many different types of merchandise).

There are a few ways administrators can manage cardholder spending at these types of merchants:

  • Request an itemized receipt from the cardholder for any purchases made from certain merchants.
  • Block merchants that sell items the cardholder should not have access to: For example, if you do not want the cardholder to be able to purchase alcohol, you can block the grocery stores category and only specifically allow grocery stores that are known to not sell alcohol.
