Access to Cash

The first setting you will see on the Spending Monitor controls is cash access.

In this article, you’ll learn about cash access Spending Monitor settings as well as cash withdrawal limits.

Cash access

Block or allow the following three ways to access cash:

  • Cash withdrawals at ATMs
  • Cash withdrawals inside a bank (i.e., getting cash from a teller at a bank)
  • Cash-back at time of purchase

You can block some or all of these methods of cash withdrawal by moving the toggle from “allow” to “block.” If the setting is set to “block,” all attempts at cash withdrawal for that method will be blocked.

If the cardholder needs access to cash but you would like to limit the dollar amount that can be withdrawn per transaction:

  • Toggle the type of cash access you want to permit to “allow.”
  • Check the box next to “Block cash withdrawals over $ [ ].”
  • Enter the maximum withdrawal amount.

In the scenario above, a cardholder would be able to withdraw $100 in cash or less per ATM transaction, but would be blocked from any cash withdrawals inside a bank or at the time of purchase.

Cash withdrawal limits

As highlighted above, you can restrict cash access and the dollar amount of cash withdrawals allowed through the Spending Monitor based on cardholder needs. Additionally, there are daily and monthly limits regarding the amount of cash that can be withdrawn that apply to all cardholders.

Daily Limits:

  • $500 / day from an ATM or point of sale transaction (e.g., cash back with purchase)
  • $500 / day over the counter cash withdrawal (e.g., from a bank teller)

Monthly Limits:

  • $3,000 / month from an ATM or point of sale transaction (e.g., cash back with purchase)
  • $3,000 / month over the counter cash withdrawal (e.g., from a bank teller)

The daily and monthly limits reset at midnight Pacific Standard Time and on the first day of each month.
